The focus of Joy Annett's jewellery making over the past 14 years has been to express her style through her creations. Joy's medium of choice is recycled sterling silver. She combines cold join techniques with molten forms by melting and manipulating silver; incorporating geometric and free form shapes for contrast. Other elements include 14 kt gold-fill, rough diamond, 18 kt gold, freshwater pearls and cubic zirconias. She uses patina to give depth to the pieces. The crevices are blackened while the smooth surfaces are polished to a high shine.
