Suitaakii Black is an award winning Niitsitapi Filmmaker, Jewellery maker, community organizer, and curator. Her pronouns are she/her in an English context. She currently lives in Mohkintsis/Treaty 7/Calgary, but her family is from Siksika Nation. She strongly identifies as Two Spirited and Indigiqueer, and makes a living educating workplaces on LGBTQ2S+ competency and Indigenous/Two Spirit Identity through the Calgary Queer Arts Society. Lastly, she is a Co-Founder of the Treaty 7 Film Collective that was started in 2016. She is a matriarch in the making, and is on a journey towards decolonization and reconnection to culture through art and community.
