Iqaluit PLACE OF MANY FISH Iqaluit is the capital of the Territory of Nunavut and is located on Baffin Island at the northern end of Frobisher Bay near the mouth of the Sylvia Grinnell River. It has a population of over 7,000 people which makes it the largest community in Canada’s arctic. This modern city is rich with traditional Inuit culture and is the home of many Inuit artists, filmmakers, and musicians. There are also arts and culture festivals, often organised by the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association in the spring and summer that bring artists from across the territory.
