Rody Kenny Courtice: the Pattern of Her Times
$60.80
Rody Kenny Courtice (1891-1973) was one of the first women to become involved with the Canadian modernist movement, at one time even exhibiting with the Group of Seven. Courtice, however, went in another artistic direction and for the rest of her life exhibited on her own or in shows with other women artists, notably Isabel McLaughlin, Yvonne McKague Houser and Doris McCarthy. Her work ranged from the whimsical to the abstract and she was the first woman to be invited to participate in an exhibition of Canadian abstract art.
