All the wood Carson uses comes from a variety of sources: offcuts or scraps from hardwood flooring companies, furniture makers, cabinet making shops, musical instrument makers; he gets hardwood pallets from a company in Winnipeg that has heavy machinery shipped from all over the world; he sources tree prunings and parts of trees from local arborists.
